SUMMARY:Reflection on the Precepts - "Capstone" Council Fire Circle
DESCRIPTION:Calling All Current and Former Precept Students! Please join the One Heart Sangha 2026 Precept Study Class to reflect on the Tenth Grave Precept I vow to honor my life as the life of a Peacemaker. This is the practice of Not Thinking Ill of the Three Treasures. I will not speak ill of The Three Treasures nor create conditions for others to do so. I will recognize myself and others as manifestations of Buddha\,Dharma and Sangha. \n\n\n\nWe we spend time in Council together reflecting in respectful interaction (in the manner of a ZPO Fire Circle) with one another on how the Precepts are alive with us\, how they permeate our lives\, how they challenge us to Wake Up! \n\n\n\nIf you’ve been through Jukai\, bring your experience of continuing to live with the Precepts – and for those who have been working with the Precepts this year\, bring your reflections on how they have become more than words on a page. \n\n\n\nA calendar invitation will be sent to the OHS Sitting and Jukai groups.

SUMMARY:Bearing Witness at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum
DESCRIPTION:One Heart Sangha will be bearing witness to the WWII Holocaust by visiting the National Holocaust Memorial Museum in downtown Washington DC. Bearing witness is an important step in the Zen Peacemakers Three Tenets of Engaged Buddhism. Registration will be limited to 25 attendees. \n\n\n\n\n\nPlan on arriving by 10:30 AM at the latest and go through security on your own. The lines may be over 15 minutes on a Saturday. We will gather inside the museum to hand out tickets at 10:50 AM and enter together at 11 AM. Please watch your email for more details as the event approaches. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease review this important information in advance\n\n\n\n\nUse the Museum’s 14th Street entrance.\n\n\n\nItems not allowed in the Museum include: guns\, all knives\, mace\, pepper spray\, and other weapons. SUMMARY:Zen Brush Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join One Heart Sangha and Washington Ethical Society for a Zen brush art workshop. Sensei Bob JinGen Ertman\, who has studied brush art and calligraphy extensively with Japanese masters\, will be leading the workshop. \n\n\n\n\n\nEnso by Sensei Bob\n\n\n\n\n\nBrush art is a Japanese art form typically featuring natural subjects\, Japanese characters\, or traditional shapes like the circular enso. Zen brush art emphasizes spontaneity and minimalism\, contrasting black ink and white paper. There is no right or wrong in Zen art\, only what is present for the artist in the moment each brush stroke is made. \n\n\n\nAdvance registration is required so we can be sure we have enough space and materials on hand. The workshop is free. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you would like to support the organizers\, we welcome you to donate to Washington Ethical Society\, who is generously providing space for the workshop. \n\n\n\nIf you have questions\, write info@oneheartsangha.org. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInkbush image designed by Freepik – Magnific.com
